From The Gold Report Expert Analysis
The Gold Report Interview with James West (7/9/12) "I believe NI 43-101 enforcement should be undertaken more carefully. For example, look at what happened to Orbite Aluminae Inc. last year. Orbite extrapolated a rare earth estimate between holes two kilometers apart. The geologist at the Ontario Securities Commission took exception to that and halted the stock. Later, the Autorité des Marchés Financiers in Québec did the same thing on the same grounds. Additional NI 43-101 reports were ordered by both agencies. Eventually, 11 independent geologists concluded that Orbite's approach to the assumption was sound and that the estimate was accurate. While it was halted, the stock built up a short position of 11M shares. When it was finally unhalted, it got hammered, and is now trading at nowhere near where it should be trading." More >
Morning Coffee (6/28/12) "The positive news continues to come out of Orbite Aluminae Inc. . .Wednesday, the company announced the successful test results of its patented process in the remediation of red mud and the associated tailings ponds; red mud represents a corrosive, hazardous and long-lasting contaminant and is a byproduct of the Bayer process traditionally used to produce alumina from bauxite. The new test result demonstrate that Orbite's process is able to isolate the principal components most commonly found in red mud and remediate them as high-value-added commercial products (Al, Fe, Ti, MgO, REO, RMO, etc.)."
Esther Tanquintic-Misa, IB Times (6/27/12) "Canadian company Orbite Aluminae Inc. announced on Tuesday it has successfully extracted the first commercial samples of heavy rare earth oxides and scandium from its aluminous clay deposit at its Grande-Vallee property in Quebec, aided by the use of its patented heavy rare earth and rare-metal extraction and separation technology. With this development, the company now asserts it is the only company by far in North America equipped with an operational and successful technology to pick up and separate heavy rare earth oxides, such as dysprosium and erbium and rare metal oxides, such as gallium, scandium and yttrium, from shale clay."
Marc Johnson, M Partners (5/30/12) "Orbite Aluminae Inc.'s updated PEA will rectify disclosure issues identified in the audit and its expected to be released by May 31: The major changes will include the partitioning of the Indicated resources into Measured, Indicated and Inferred resource categories and will include alternate fuel sources. . .we believe natural gas is the most economical heating method for the Orbite process and that ultimately the smelter-grade alumina plant(s) will be built near natural gas sources. . .we are maintaining our Buy recommendation."
The Gold Report Interview with Jimmy Chu (5/11/12) "Orbite Aluminae Inc. has patented a new technology to extract alumina from aluminous clay deposits. . .we have met with Orbite management on numerous occasions and we flew out to Gaspé, Québec, to see its pilot plant. It's potentially a game changer." More >
