Country risks,  Nigeria vs others. Would you rank a country that without warning  dramatically increases the tax rate on oil production higher or lower on the risk curve than one that has a tendency to lower the tax rate to try to increase production?

if you rank them lower than Nigeria is a lot better off than the UK in the North Sea.

About the risk of Russia and all the "tan" countries that don't increase the tax, they just steal the fields.

I could go on.

I know Nigeria gets a bad wrap due to the Nigerian scams and the 6% of oil that disappears but the risk is way overstated.  After all we get a 20% premium on WTI vs 20% discount for Canada heavy oil so what's 6% between friends.

This is why I cannot wait for Mart to be listed in London where the understanding of dealing with Africa is a lot better.

Cheers
