What's there to nationalize? There's no mine. This is purely an exploration company. Neither Lumina nor Salta have any interest in developing a mine. They are in to exploration plain and simple.

Besides that would be gross stupidity by the Argentinean government if they were to attempt to nationalize an exploration company. Argentina has a very undeveloped mining industry as it is. If they scare away the exploration companies what little there is of the mining industry in Argentina will cease in less than ten years and it will be unlikely that any exploration company will bother to invest in Argentina ever again.

I also think that the most viable takeover candidates are likely to be Chilean-owned mining companies since Chile has special tax concessions in Argentina to encourage Chilean mining companies to do business with them. If a Chilean company builds a mine I think that there is no chance that it could be nationalized. However, the mines of foreign multinationals that are not from South American countries could well be. I think that Lumina should not have bothered approaching BHP. They should have gone straight to the biggest Chilean miners and not a foreign multinational.
