RE: RE: RE: RE: Natural Gas Vx. Coal Since when was high BTU coal with low sulfur and mercury not good for making power? This would be the greatest fuel for a coal fired boiler in the country. In fact, this coal was burned for power generation for many years at the old Colrado Power Company plants. Obviously you know little about power generation. Boilers are designed primarily for the fuel available within a 300 mile area. Many plants can burn coal from as low as 2500 btus per pound all the way to 15,000 Btu per lb.
But this is met coal and it isnt the best grade but it is a terrific blending coal due to its fluidity as well as other properties.
