The coal is mid grade. Superior for blending which reduces cost to the steel maker.

Mining conditions are easy as the seams average at least 48inches in most areas rising to as much as 9 feet, Of course we mine 26 inch seems in my area, Our boys would love getting to stand up and mine.

Gas conditions are low. This is not considered a gassy mine.

Wells? Who cares. That is what your mine plan is for. You avoid them. There is not a mine in Kentucky, Virginia or West Virginia that doesnt work around existing wells.

Rail should be under $ 25 million has the railbed is still in place, the bridges are sound. A small price to pay for increasing the production by 1 to 2 million tons per year.

Hmmm If you read the USGS reports for the area, study coal bed methane drilling logs, then run core samples on your mining area and come up with 600 million tons of reserves, I do not believe that what is left is the thining edges. The Lorencito property next door, which is being studied by a very large coal company, has average thickness of 5 feet. South of their and to the east, CBM exploration and data shows coal as thicki as 12 feet.

The mine ceased production when the Steel Company was offered very low electric prices so they converted the mill to electric arc furnace thus not needing the coal. The ruskies who now own the mill are contemplating returning to coke as the price of power not cause the arc furnace to be mor expensive.
