Tetra Tech has 13,000 employees and $2.6 billion in annual revenue.

The following describes the AXI project on their website.

Roche Bay Iron Ore Mine Project | Print |

Located on the shores of Nunavut’s Melville Peninsula, the Advanced Exploration Inc. (AEI) Roche Bay Iron Ore Mine presents challenges unique to the Circumpolar Regions of the globe. The nearest community is Hall Beach, approximately 60 kilometers northeast of the Project. There is no road access.

The project will involve open pit mining and processing of iron ore to produce iron ore concentrate (66% Fe) for shipment to international markets through a purpose-built port. Tetra Tech is supporting AEI with the development of the Project feasibility study (FS) and various development activities at Roche Bay.

EBA has conducted environmental baseline studies for the Roche Bay project since 2006. Environmental services include wildlife, vegetation, water quality, hydrology, fisheries, meteorology, marine biological, and archaeological studies. EBA is preparing the Project Description Report (PDR) to initiate regulatory review and project approvals and will prepare the subsequent Environmental Impact Statement (EIS).

To support AIE’s continued project development, a team of specialists from across Tetra Tech are delivering a full complement of services to our client. Tetra tech is providing the following services for the mine feasibility study:

  • Project management
  • Mineral processing and mining expertise
  • Environmental, transportation, and geotechnical evaluations
  • Tailings, water, and wastewater management expertise
  • Civil engineering
  • Mine Planning
  • Port and Power
