RE: RE: RE: RE: RE: RE: RE: RE: TRE vs. SVM vs. ON You keep talking about logic, and yet most of your writing and understaing are the most illogical I have read on this message board.
I don't protent to be a sports expert. One thing I do know is that differrent situations call for different responses from IOC. Some need rule change, while others need giving out penalties. In the case of Bert and Dickie, they didn't get caught right then and there. Besides, all other teams were playing to win. If all the teams involved had peddled backwards, and refused to reach the end first, I can gaurantee you all of them would have been disqualified on the spot, which was exactly what happened when the badminton players on both sides wanted to lose, despite judge's repeat warnings and spectators' complaints.
As to bias, yes, bias plays a big role in how people are perceived, but bias alone does not nullify a gold medal (in the case of Swimmer Ye). It certainly does not and will not bankrup a company. What caused sinoforest to bankrupt was not bias, but it was unable to prove its tree ownership in spite of all the contracts it had presented. If the Chinese government had issued makeup certificates to confirm that sinoforest indeed owned all the claimed trees, the cease trade would have been long lifted. But the Chinese government obviously didn't want to help. Yet, ironically, it let Chan sit as the vice chairman in its national forestry committee, and gave him a prestigious reward for his outstanding contribution to China's green economy. Do you see what's wrong here?
