You are absolutely right it takes more then one hole to confirm the theory and that is probably why the company decided to stall the project since more drilling would require more cash ( couple of millions) which is not available at this time for just this project.

It would be helpful to the small investor if the company would be a little more specific and upfront on their information to all SH what their intentions are and why. 

At the moment the issue HW is making it much more speculative and this may have something to do with the present SP as well.
