I am currently a swiss resident with an IB account and have received the dividends with 25% already taken out by the helpful Canadians. If you are a french resident don't forget to pay the 20% or so french dividend tax (which you then may or may not get back after a bunch of paper-pushing depending on the existence and wording of a french double taxation agreement with Canada).

But all the burocracy is totally worth it because if everything works out you get almost half as much bang for the buck as a 10c/share buyback would have provided. Yay!
