RE: Trading Volume and other matters: I agree that there are few buyers for these stocks right now. This is a sector-wide phenomenon. Some really good value resource plays often go for days without any trades and the overall volumes in this sector are so small that you have to wonder when the miners will get their day in the sun. The stock valuations are so cheap that they are now on average, trading below the actual NAV of many of these companies. The stock prices have not even come close to matching the underlying value of the resource they represent and this bodes well for us because it is the only sector that is so undervalued that eventually, value investors will have to turn to it if they want to find money-making opportunities in the market now.
Fatcharlie, you mention that you wish that ANX management could be more proactive. Could you give us some examples as to what could be done to unlock value as far as the stock price goes? They have a major Research Company covering it, something which I find surprising given how new ANX is as a producer in the gold mining sector. They have several published articles describing the merits of the Company and they have just finished increasing their land holdings from approx. 600hectares to an almost 4,000hectare resource-rich exploration landscape. If Dustin releases too much, too often, then, it may seem that he is desperate for attention and no-one will take his announcements too seriously. He has brought the interest-bearing debt down from 7million$ to about 3million$ and probably less than that now and he has publicly stated that he wants to increase production to about 20,000 ounces yearly by whatever means he can. So what are your thoughts on this? What can and should Dustin do to get the stock to move etc?? I just read where gold is expected to breach 1700$/oz before the general elections in the U.S. Perfect timing for Dustin to increase production and cash flows for the Company.
