Argument and Debate

Argument and Debate

Civilized discussion and debate is healthy and meaningful.  The presentation of logical ideas, concepts, alternatives and opinions should be a forum for growth and understanding.

Twisting my words and taking my opinions out of context to support an argument is not only transparent but sadly degrades ones credibility while illustrating a continuing ineptitude or complete lack of understanding of the issues and the arguments.

The use of emotion is a politicians trick.  And you know what kind of a reputation most of them have.  The use of logic and fact alone is a much more convincing form of argument and debate.  This is why we have national instrument 43-101 and why we do feasability studies and why we have engineering reports  done at arms length.  Logic and reason are what is important.  Scientific fact is what has allowed us to become technological giants.

Many who oppose the development of coal deposits and particularly the Raven deposit are arguing from an emotional perspective alone.  Many of these persons also have a hidden agenda.  They are not being objective and although they may appear to have a logical argument when it is examined in more detail the agenda can become very obvious.

I make no misrepresentations here.  I am investing in this company for profit.  I have no ulterior motives.  My arguments are meant to support the development of this coal deposit.  I try to present facts and figures.  If my logic or my information is incorrect then I welcome criticism.  But, I do not try to present anything that is not what I believe to be relevant and factual and true.

A poster has mentioned that carbon dioxide cannot be removed by scrubbing. That's not true.  In fact, Hitachi has developed a new scrubbing technology for coal fired plants.  See the link. https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S187661021100049X

Carbon Capture and Storage is a reality and is being implemented world wide.  There are many links, just Google it.  But, here is a link. https://www.world-nuclear.org/info/inf83.html

And who are you trying to fool when you say that Canada doesn't sell marijuana!  If it was legal it would be BC's second largest industry.  And even though it is illegal,  it brings in a huge amount of money to our black market economy.

Sure, there are many products that have gone off the market because we have discovered that they are harmful to us or the environment.  Many because we have found alternatives.  Others because it may not be economical and we have not found a means to use them safely.

Coal can be used cleanly and effectively to produce energy for electricity if we have the desire to make that happen.  We have the technology and are continuing to develop new ones.  Until there is a practical, viable alternative to using coal, like using solar energy, then there will be a demand for it.  We have a resource based economy and must take advantage of this opportunity for our own continuing prosperity.

Just my opinions.
