RE: RE: RE: Looking very good for Simba :(

this play is purely speculative at this time.  This is not a producer.  You play the speculative rise in price when the drilling is announced.  You know that; we all know it.

I've seen enough seismic in my time.  I work in the oil and gas industry.    I know what it costs to plan/acquire 3D program.  It can run anywhere from approximately $150,000 for a tiny 3D, $500,000 for a moderate sized 3D,  more than a $1 million for a large 3D.   Planning and shooting a 3D can easily take a couple of months.  A good seismic processing company should be able to process the field data in about 2 weeks time for a good migrated 3d volume.  It will take 2-3 weeks for a good intrepreter to look at that 3D volume to decide best drill locations.  It will be at close to 3 months from TODAY to get the drill in the ground.

Of course a 2D program is quicker; can be processed on a line by line basis as they are completed.  Cheaper too.   I personally think a 2D program is better.  Quicker to get the drill into the ground.  If they hit some good economic wells; then shoot a 3D over the area to define the size of pools and any other missed targets that are between and outside the 2D lines.
