Supply vs Demand... chrisale, you keep bringing up the fact that CEC will be selling 12% of their production which is thermal coal to energy producers. Actually, you insist they'll sell even their met coal for a cheaper price as well.
It all comes down to supply versus demand.
What you are suggesting is that, starting with Raven of course, you want to stop Raven from selling their 12% thermal coal production.
So let's say you and your 'friends' are successful in stopping Raven thermal coal sales, and you don't stop there, you go stop CPT's, and CSO's thermal coal production plus many other thermal coal producers. What exactly have you succeeded in doing?
You have limited the supply of thermal coal, but not demand. What does that do? It increases the price for thermal coal doesn't it, lol. Hence energy prices go up. But don't forget, the higher the demand for Nat Gas, and the price for Nat Gas goes up as well, and we still pay more for energy.
Why don't you stop beating around the bush chrisale, and state why you're here?
If you're that concerned about the use of thermal coal, then stop the users, not the suppliers. If there is no demand for thermal, then suppliers can only sell Metallurgical coal for steel production. So Raven can only sell 88% of their coal.
You succeed. Congratulations. So get out there and start lobbying the energy producers to switch to nat gas or go solar, etc. Stop the demand and you stop the supply.
Kind of like drug use. You cut the supply and prices for the drugs goes up, but stop the useage, and voila, no more need to supply drugs for the addicts. JMO
