RE: RE: RE: RE: strike

RE: RE: RE: RE: strike

onehafnorse made a point --- it seems like a divided community, but the move by the women down there proved that the workers (or a good portion of them) want to work for Excellon.  A winning union vote of 1 also says things are divided.  But, greed is universal as is keeping a contract.  From an outside perspective,  I see that as soon as the "elephant" is discovered, greed (landowners) sets in and contracts expect to be broken.  Does anyone really believe this is right or the way to do business?

One can compare this to (as in my business)  restoring a vintage automobile for a contracted sum of , say $ 50,000.   Then the car goes to auction and sells for a new,  record high of  $ 2.1 million (the elephant).  Does that give me the right to break or modify my contract so I can get more  $$$$  in proportion to the new value??

I agree that some of the management should go down there for PR even if it's to let the people who want to work know  that they  (management) are behind them.   Another thing I noticed is that the last press-release (the big one telling the history of the strike)  was put out after new management personell was in place.  I thought it was a very good re-cap of the situation and easier to follow , rather than the bits and snatches of news we've seen in the past.

These are just some of thoughts and obversations as this thing unfolds and I thank anyone for reading.

As Always, Best of Luck
