RUSAL - Orbite MOU Questions

RUSAL - Orbite MOU Questions

Still unclear what the net benefit of the RUSAL/Orbite MOU will be - some questions;

  • will the JV in the first SGA plant mean that Orbite will be a 50% owner in the first plant?
  • RUSAL gets a free license from Orbite in exchange for their alumina extraction technologies - does Orbite need RUSAL's alumina extraction technologies or know-how (if so, why)?
  • the extraction technologies are for use within the respective countries, does that mean product made using said technologies cannot be exported to other countries?
  • the MOU states that the agreement is restricted to alumina extraction, if RUSAL uses the Orbite process, why wouldn`t they use the complete process

The above are only some of the questions that need answering before the really big money gets on board. Let`s hope management doesn`t give this away too cheap.

Any thoughts...
