RE: Why is this hitting 52 week low? All W stocks had hit the skid since the ATP price came off the highs of $460 and settled in below $400.
MLG is in the same boat. So were WOF, GTP, LGO and others.
We see with GTP, which has lots of properties with bore holes that interest is starting to pick on the future potential. Interesting to see what happens with WOF which still needs to complete financing and construction etc.
NTC had reported profitable operations when supplying concentrate at far less than $300 to satisfy prebought contracts. However recent financials have shown extraordinarily high costs of production per MTU and management has not really clarified why that is and what is in store for the future. Right now the shares not in the hands of insiders are only valued at $25-30M. So someone could pick up the assets of the largest W concentrate producer outside of China for what amounts to spare change for most companies. The Board of Directors is looking at strategic alternatives for increasing shareholders value... presumably they are looking at alternatives that increase value for all shareholders, not just those sitting on the board. MLG is in a similar situation.... good resource, currently operating at a profit, yet stock is at rock bottom.....it should also be a little higher than that....
Some of has to do with the fact that W production is a very small market compared to most other metals. Some with the fact some government stockpiles have been put on the market. But demand is not decreasing and the resource has great value.... just a question whether that value will be locked in for the shareholders' benefit...
