With public traded companies, there can be a short presentation, almost similar to a state of the union address as to what the company has done over the past year and where they are headed. Shareholders can ask questions at the meetings, but with proxy votes from the few major shareholders (who own at least 10% of shares), any statutory business is fairly perfunctory.
