RE: RE: RE: Plateau South .......wire gold

RE: RE: RE: Plateau South .......wire gold

First time I've heard of "wire gold" as well. Couldn't find much info on it either. I did come across some info about a mining district in Breckenridge Colorado that had some wire gold discoveries as early as 1860 and one in 1880 where a prospector dug out 20lbs of wire gold.

Some more info:

In 1859, the first American prospectors penetrated the rugged mountains along the headwaters of Colorado's Blue River in search of gold. Just west of the Continental Divide they found it in abundance. The mining camp that sprang up along the Blue River was christened "Breckinridge" in honor of the illustrious Vice-President, John C. Breckinridge. To the staunch Unionists in the mining camp, it seemed fitting to honor him so but when Breckinridge sided with the South in 1861, the indignant miners back in Colorado promptly changed the spelling of their town to "Breckenridge".

By 1880, the famous Breckenridge Mining District had established itself as one of Colorado's premier gold and silver-producing regions. Like a magnet, it drew prospectors and miners from all parts of the country.

Summer of 1880 apparently stumbled on a small vein of wire gold similar to that found at the famous "Wire Patch" on Farncomb Hill. Located only 5 miles east of Breckenridge, Farncomb Hill turned out to be one of the richest pieces of real estate in Colorado mining history. The young tenderfoot had just made the discovery of a lifetime!

the novice prospector had the presence of mind to survey his surroundings and fix his location on the mountain. From his position he could see the Warrior's Mark Mine to the east and Breckenridge to the northwest. He then proceeded to dig out some 20 pounds of wire gold from the vein!

Laramide-age rhyodacites, quartz monzonites, and the adjacent altered and brecciated country rock are the source rocks and host rocks for most of the precious metal deposits at Breckenridge. The famous "Wire Patch" was a locus of mineralization in which the brecciated portions of the rhyodacite porphyry and the surrounding shales were impregnated with gold-bearing ore. The apex of this amazing deposit cropped out near the top of Farncomb Hill, just 5 miles east of Breckenridge.

Mineralization in the Breckenridge area consists of both placer deposits and primary lode deposits. The placer deposits near Breckenridge were some of the richest in Colorado. Virtually every creek bed and dry gulch in the area contained gold. A few of them (like French Gulch, Illinois Gulch, and Georgia Gulch) were legendary producers.

From Aug 20th news release:

"The showing in the “Goldstack Zone” is a structurally controlled quartz breccia within an area of extensive
2 quartz veining, stockwork and brecciation that has produced numerous samples containing coarse visible gold. Three channel samples cut across the strike of the zone have returned average values of 14.25 grams per tonne over a total length of 2.4 metres.
"

From Sept 24th news release:

"the company also expects drill results from the Plateau property in the near future"

.

I agree that $5 is really stretching it, but in this market anything is possible with a sweet hole or two. Just(lol) add a couple of sweet holes to GSR's low float and it's the perfect recipe for an explorer to catch fire. But then again that's my dreaming as well, so my conservative bet is we hit $1 within 2 months.

GLTA!
