RE: takeover speculation I would like to know the source of the article. If this true, that there are rumors on the street and the company has turned down 2 offers is interesting(which would not surprise me). I'm NOT say the company is in play because this is all rumors. Remember the old addige - buy on (real)rumor / sell on fact. If more that 1 offer comes out, it's anyones guess at that point. There is alot of activity / talk with the oil sands right now.
What I find interesting in this article is the expectation of news releases of land acquired and increase of credit faclilty. If this happened could lend credibilty to the article.
With that said, if there is / are serious candidates and the game has started I think we should start to see some increase in volume for several days / week. With the exception of days with news, we are averaging 300k - 400k. I have noticed that the 'bids' have been strong and would expect about 1m+ per day over the next coming weeks. We may not see increase in price but a stonger than normal 'bid'. Under security rules you don't have to release your intentions / ownership if you have under 10%.
Another thing that I will be looking at is insiders activity. I would expect insider activity to hault totally. If something is happening insiders can't use that information to there advantage and if there is interest they would be foolish to sell.
Remember we are on the index now and increase buying from funds like Canaccord would be normal; they could be buying to shore up there postion for there funds. Also what are the short postions from the funds?
September could be interesting!
