Demand/supply fall-out...

Demand/supply fall-out...

From two flyers my wife kept...

Metro: "3 days only": Extra lean ground beef $2.88/lb (save $2.31/lb) but you must buy the extra large value pack for this price

Loblaws: Extra lean ground beef $2.99/lb (save $2.40/lb) but you must buy the extra large Club pack for this price

Yes, it's Thanksgiving week-end and beef products will be in much less demand (but might supply be also backing-up?). Apparently these prices are as low as it gets (maybe not going forward for a while).

I cannot help but think if there was another branded product of ground beef with a sticker on the package "From Canadian cattle vaccinated to be E.coli free" what type of premium price this beef would receive (today and going forward). Note: proably too strong a sticker statement that would not be allowed by the legal beagles (without all sorts of disclaimers)...but you get the idea.

Anyways...have a wonderful, "E. coli-free" Thanksgiving week-end!  rg
