Rising Tungsten Prices!

Rising Tungsten Prices!

October 5/ 2012

Ammonium paratungstate (APT) prices could rise as the year ends and continue to climb into the beginning of 2013, the president and ceo of Canadian tungsten producer Malaga has suggested.

The Metal Bulletin quote currently stands at $340-380 per mtu, but this could rise to $400 by the end of the year, and possibly as high as $500 in 2013. Malaga’s performance is largely dependent on the APT price, Pierre Monet said, but the fourth quarter of 2012 is expected to be more positive than the second and third. “We’re expecting some improvement. It’s hard to put a number on it right now,” he told Metal Bulletin.
