CBC news/interview (video) but first, a question regarding the first statement (below) in G&M article just posted...
"The Alberta meat processing plant at the centre of a dangerous bacterial outbreak is being permitted to resume limited operations but the agency responsible for food safety in Canada says no meat will leave the doors until it is proven fit for consumption."
Curious what retail grocery chains, just impacted from recall, will now be rushing back to place new orders with XL Foods to sell (and potentially explain why XL Foods beef again) to their concerned customers (when beef from XL allowed to leave their doors again)? Or, will industry economics and contracts in place push out beef till next E. coli outbreak (just a matter of time)?
One last opportunity to come out with a better plan for Food Safety going forward which includes a proactive measure(s).
Love beef but my/our family consumption will be down going forward. DO NOT feel confident. Looking for alternative beef sources like others. rg

And, a "Did You know?"... that happened on September 14 (link/ website/press release) from you know who...

Then, September 16 (statement below). And, more reason to implement proactive measures going forward (including leading Canadian innovation) with BNC's ready-to-go "Made-in Canada" cattle vaccine to significantly reduce E.coli. And, also... demonstrates leadership in the industry and for Canada!
"The and XL Foods, Inc. began issuing health hazard alerts warning the public, distributors, grocery chains and food service establishments not to consume, sell, or serve specific ground beef products made from XL Foods beef trimmings from August 24th, 28th and September 5th that may have been contaminated with coli O157:H7."
