OIL AND GAS REPORT
"CALIFORNIA'S DEEP SAN JOAQUIN OIL AND GAS BASIN
AMERICA'S SLEEPING ENERGY GIANT"
The San Joaquin Basin has yielded 12.3 billion barrels of oil and 12.1 trillion cubic feet of natural gas for a present day market value of approximately $ 400 billion dollars U.S.
Background
By far one of the most prolific oil and gas basins in the North American continent, the San Joaquin basin has a multitude of oil and gas pools that have produced some of the most exciting blowouts encountered in the USA. The majority of these pools are located in Kern County where there are over 30,000 producing wells, most of them on one acre spacing.
Kern County produces 62% of all the oil produced in California and 9% of the total oil production for the USA. If Kern County were a state, it would rank fourth after Texas, Alaska and Louisiana as an oil producer. Within Kern County, 18 oil fields exist, including three of the most productive fields in the United States.
