RE: Hypothetical Question - rdge Hey rdge,
You're right, Romney didn't go for the jugular, However I wonder whether he and his advisors developed their debate strategy after concluding that Obama would likely spend his entire pre-debate week prepping for a Libya showdown.
Romney, throughout his business career, in progressively more responsible and successful executive positions, has proven himself to be a outstanding strategist . I think he refused to be drawn into a potential streetfight over the Libyan problem intentionally:
a] preferring to maintain a presidential presence during the final debate, and
b] clearly knowing that Obama's foreign policy, especially as it related to the Libyan fiasco, was already unravelling before the world's media, as investigations deepened.
Obama tried to steer him back on several occasions to a debate on Libya, but Romney, wisely I think, refocused the ensuing discussion on the Economy.
Well, after watching all the debates, that was my take. Food for thought!
Cheers,
Brit
