RE: MELA

RE: MELA

This has pretty much been discussed ad nauseum on this board but I'll say it again; the Aura and Melafind target two very different segments.  Melafind is good for understanding the nature and phsyiology of a cancerous lesion, whereas the Aura is ideal for scanning for potentially cancerous lesions.  For early detection, which is what the Aura is for, Melafind can't compete.  Someone who goes to a dermatologist will not pay thousands of dollars to have a body full of lesions(say 10) scanned; nor will the dermatologist want to spend 20 minutes scanning a patient.  Whereas with the Aura, a dermatologist could scan 20 lesions in 5 minutes using the Aura at a cost of just $10 for the tip.

The two products compete in the same way that Lexus competes with Kia; technically I guess they do the same thing but they have very different purposes.
