RE: Time for a different strategy? UncleManfred, First of all Lablaw is an idiot and if Frankman is correct he is an idiot cubed. Your suggestion in your post is a good one except Southern Arc has people living in Indonesia and they speak the language. The company they own 90% of, PT Indotan has been attending local meetings to try and get the community working for them. The comment I read was they should do this more often, but they were relating the come together to everyone who attended. Many aspects are affecting SA. Politics is one. The people voting seem to like politicians that give foreign miners trouble. We see that a lot. The people of Indonesia believe that the minerals in their ground belong to them and you can see the laws that reflect that sentiment. If you don't know two laws have been changed recently that affect the forestry permit. One states that the applicant doesn't have to exchange other property that is adjacent to the property being applied for. Now it can be from any where in Indonesia. Also they changed for the better the part that says the permit is good for the entire permit period and local governments can't change that permit. So that is good for SA. A lot of questions will answered come this November at the SA meeting. I have read that the Lombok tourism board is pushing tourism over mining. They believe that jobs in the tourism sector will provide a more stable income for the families in Lombok. Southern Arc has the proper people in place. I see the only problem being Indonesia in general. It is impossible to predict what they will do next. Cheers.
