the mine just watced an interesting reprt on BNN about Barrick and one of its newly acuired holdings in Zambia (did not catch the whole thing) but by the sounds of it the comp they purchased the mine from were only interested in getting their production no up to make the mine look as good as possible (guess they were working on geting rid of their mine) the big problem they face now are huge costs beause the mine was not built and maintained properly now capital costs to operate will skyrocket
I belive that BZAis doing the opposite here taking their time to do it right at Copprstone crossing all the T's and doting the I's and setting themselves up for longtearm smooth operations
what is alo contributing to these delays is that they decde to run the mine themselves not going with the contractor first hired to run the mine for them
i see all this as short tearm pain (at this point) for long tearm gain keping cash costs at their predicted $420 or so an oz.
the days of the 15x in th mining sector in a matter of 3 days are gone just as the dot coms are history
now i agree with most of you regarding the dismal SP performance but I made my mind up about a year ago that this is a long term hold for me now (not that it hasent already been as I have owned myshares in BZA since 2006
so unless someone has heard somthing different from an official source i will go with the last press release and selling my shares now would be like quitting the marathon 5 yards before the finishline with the next closest runner behind by 15 yards
