The most likely scenario is that stop losses were triggered.  Whether they were triggered because bad news was leaked and the proportionate selling lead to a huge domino we shall see. 

I highly suspect any company/investment firm is dumb enough to try to pull something like this off...

still hoping for the best though! (at least for my wallet)
