Hot Taps

Hot Taps

Not sure that I agree 100% with Q5 regarding the theft of oil, what is shown on Nigerian web sites is Nigerians performing very crude hot taps into the pipe line and stealing the oil.  They then process the crude to make diesel fuel which they sell.  This is possibly the lowest standard for stealing, and of course some of it is stolen at the ships loading crude, at what point is it diverted to a pirate ship, you tell me???  The new pipe line is supposed to be sunk down in the water with Cememt weights on top of the pipe to stop it from floating, this makes it more difficult to perform a hot tap on. Will we still have theft on the new line, time will tell.
