RE: RE: vtr hanging in .. so far That "Kiaka in the desert, 1g/ton just does not cut it" line is from Brent Cook, and honestly, based on some of his other comments, I think he was just saying something because he was asked, and because that seems like a plausible explanation, after the fact, for why the stock is trading at $15/oz. When it was 2.60, the story was all "it's a large, near surface, easy to mine deposit in a very stable political jurisdiction in Africa'. I don't recall Brent Cook telling his '1g/ton doesn't quite cut it' story back then.
My point being, the prices move, for no apparent reason, other than that the whole sector's out of favor (in gold stocks case the complaint was generally low margins and missed targets), the market psychology drives the price somewhere, usually way beyond what fundamentals would dictate, and THEN the analysts invent stories to explain the move and to tell everybody how obvious it should have been to them before the fact.
