RE: RE: Re: Germany a pioneer in clean energy The initial capitalization of these clean energy projects is high, but the operating costs are way down in comparison with the traditional energy users. The coal industry has been twiddling its thumbs for a very very long time and has been in a state of denial, and even has denounced the scientific evidence that the polar caps are melting. This is a slap in the face of the scientific community by big coal. The scrubbers and the technology have been around for a very long time, but big coal has not spent a penny in applying such technology to reduce sulfur and CO2 emmissions. I happened to have first hand experience to what extent the coal industry is concerned about the safety and health of its labour force, the Massey disaster and the death of the miners is still fresh in our memory. They would not implement basic safety procedures to protect their emploees never mind the environment. Bottom line, big coal, and all industry, I would say, the last thing they would spend money on is health and safety, be it for their employees or the people at large. And for that I have personal experience.
