Of course there are risks. Every stock carries a risk. If one don't realize that they should put their money under a mattress. Although even that carries a risk. 

It seems to me that you are the one underestimating the risk.  Any unfavourable news or delays or anything that doesn't fit your senario isn't your misread, but incompetence or disregard for the shareholders by management. Everything is easy and if they don't work to your timetable they are inept. Anybody else would have got it done by now.
