RE: husky's frac job

RE: husky's frac job

Husky has received approval to do the frac job and testing.  No environmental review.  Conoco has also received approval to drill three wells.  So it appears that it is the horizontal well with multistage fracking that causes the public concern and hence the referal of the MGM well to an environmental assessment.

Husky has also applied to build a 2 permanent drilling pads, 40 km road all weather road, permanent air strip and camp.  They completed the application on November 8th.  The Sahtu LWB have about 1 month to approve or refer it to an environmental assessment.  The implications of this application appear large as it appears to be a development project rather than exploration.  It will surprise me if this doesn't get an enviromental assessment.
