RE: RE: RE: Re-evaluate Los Ocarros My understanding is that you can't accurately determine what the flow rate is if you gave gas mixining with the oil in the pipe. It complicates things - it needs to be controlled, and the choke (I believe) helps. As hockeylad said, if they can isolate the source of the gas (assuming it's in a seperate formation) then things should go well. Otherwise, they need to deal with it. They can "produce" it, they can vent or burn it, or they can recycle it back into the reservoirs to create artificial pressure forcing more oil to the surface. I'm no expert on oil wells either, so take what I've said with a grain of salt.
