How does Harley Street Urology do things differently?

We use advanced diagnostic technology not widely available elsewhere. This enables us to do things better and in a different order.

If your PSA is elevated and a DRE suggests you need further assessments, we will not proceed straight to a biopsy – there are other tests we will do first:

• We use the PCA3 test, a genetics based urine test which provides very helpful additional information together with the PSA
• We use enhanced multi-parametric MRI scans and undertake this before biopsy

This means we have much more accurate and comprehensive information about your prostate and we are therefore better placed to decide whether or not a biopsy is necessary.

Prostate cancer is diagnosed by biopsy, combined with staging and grading of your prostate cancer. We often use an enhanced biopsy called a template biopsy for greater accuracy.
