colbob, as hammer has been pointing out, the ultimate volume of rock in the estimate is most critical. And you add volume when you can show continuity between intercepts. If you don't have continuity then your resource estimate will have some very high grade but very low volume ore.

 

I don't think anyone doubts the nuggety nature of the Caribou. What is being argued is just how much ore there is.

 

If I remember correctly the strip ratio in the PG report was roughly 10 to 1. Very high IMO. If the volume shrinks then the strip ratio will only rise -- the amount of rock in the mountain is known. It is just the amount of high grade ore one can locate with from surface drilling.
