I can't really say one way or another regarding the federal budget. I have worked in numerous places over the years and find that although the YT is a bit more expensive than other spots, it isn't outrageously expensive. I certainly agree with you that the weather makes the season quite short, but the jungle is no picnic and high in the Andes leaves me gassed. Add to the pile political stability and the ability to work long days in the summer and it isn't such a bad place to spend expl dollars. I would guess the established players SP heading south is due to the pendulum effect, the overall market sell-back, and the maturation of that particular play.
