I was surprised by the answer that BMO's gave.  So just out of curiosity, I phoned Disnat, my discount broker.  They told me that I was entitled to the rights even though I asked about due bills trading. 

Conclusion: Both BMO and Disnat are wrong.  Like you said, what was the purpose of the due bills trading until the rights start to trade on Dec 3?
