To follow on, what we may see FIS develop is a frustating, but persistent "market discount" in the implied/perceived value of FIS' other assets as the market continues to focus on Patterson Lake. Since AMW unquestionably still represents the best leverage through it's capital structure and assets to Patterson Lake (the "pure play"), AMW has started (and will likely continue to) lead the charge. It's already starting to happen and may persist for some time in my opinion.

 

The problem is that no one really knows what FIS' other assets are worth. You could use book value as one measure to try to evaluate FIS, but book value in an exploration company isn't necessarily indicative of actual value creation unless the expenditures behind that book value have led to the proof of an economically viable and profitable project. For example, if I spend $100mm drilling off an uneconomic copper deposit, is it worth $100mm?

 

Both companies are going to do well at the end of the day if we have the goods, and I think we very much have the goods...... JMHO
