I envy these Cap Chat folks cause there is a good chance there is going to be employment for them if they do their part to train and qualify.

To give a personal example, I graduated from C.G.E.P. Vanier in Montreal  with a certificate in Instrumentation and Control [3 year]  in the early 80's. Note that this was a 3 year and NOT a 1 year program.  The recession began in 1980.  On the year of graduation, only 1 graduate got hired out of a class of about 110!
Hopes were dashed. Dreams were shattered. It was very painful.

To give perspective, before the recession began, employers were interviewing 1st year freshmen for jobs.  The job market was so hot, companies could not wait to get a competitive advantage to coax us to work for them.

There are no guarantees in this life.  We must do our best to prepare for success. Educaton and training is a part of this success. Success will then catch up to us -- but not always according to our schedule  ;-)
