RE: RE: RE: RE: RTZ plays creeping takeover Can't imagine RioT would be interested in making bids on the public float until they can take TRQ private into a wholly-owned subsidiary, whether for cash and their own papaer or some mix. But that can't be done so long as his nibs holds greater than 10% as the squeeze-out provisions for non-tendering shareholders of TRQ don't kick in until RioT holds 90% or more of the stock.
My prediction is at some future date prior to ever seeing any substantial cashflow from OT, a lock-up of Friedland's shares and a few other large blocks will be announced together with a friendly, management-endorsed, lackey investment banker recommended, go-private bid. At which point we can all watch for the fairness opinion of the independent board members in the proxy materials very closely. But all things considered my guess is what is good for Robert (and may I add a well-deserved and hopefully massive payday for what he accomplished in almost a decade of pushing an incredible nation-changing, copper-market changing project) may well be good for me.
