You do not wedge off the bottom of the hole but rather about 500 metres above the bottom so that the drill is angled and can cut through a larger section.

What are you guys talking about? You need to read up on wedge holes or try calling MGP - you both claim to be shareholders - they can explain the technique better.

Yes they do wedge from the bottom (this is the most common wedging) but usually that is just called drilling because there is one hole. Every deep hole requires wedging - which is simply deflection of the drill often to keep the hole heading in the right direction - a steel wedge might only deflect 1-2 degrees. It is referred to as a wedge hole when it branches off the parent - there can be multiple wedges from the same parent hole. They can and will wedge at virtually any height - it just depends upon their target. Wedging does not "cut through a larger section" - whatever that means. All of the holes drilled at Headway have multiple wedges. The risk with wedging is that the hole becomes blocked - it is especially difficult and expensive as it is so deep down. It is much cheaper than drilling multiple holes so long as your parent is on or near target. None of the Headway holes are on target (unless the target is deeper than 2600m and if it is that puts the economics in doubt).
