Who is buying and why?

Sitting here processing this news, not selling but trying to ascertain when and why to sell.

Over 6,000,000 shares traded for pennies, someone is obviously buying them. Why would they buy? Is their some intrinsic value that can still be realised? Can Davunetide be tweaked and hopefully better results, albeit years down the road?
