RE: RE: fact of fiction? Sounds like that CEO is trying to get the public interested in his company. Lithium from brine is suited for batteries if the deposit is low in contaminants. Hard rock lithium deposits like Talison's are used largely for glass and ceramics, as well as for battery manufacturing.
Brine is the cheapest way to produce lithium, and in Rodinia's case there's potash as a byproduct. Rodinia just needs to pick up an investor (preferably a car manufacturer) to get this project over the fence and into production.
