Re: Day of reckoning You can fool some of the people some of the time but you can't fool all the people all the time... And so the saying goes and with Bates and co; reality catches up with you. There is so much wiggle room you can play acrobatics with shareholders money. But at some point the spigots are shut off and the house of cards you built comes crushing down on you and everyone around you. In the case of Bates and the Holy Family , it seems in retrospect, that instead of following what the market was telling them that the met coal market would tank, back in Jan., 2011, they decided to twist reality into their frame of mind and set out on a triumphalist path that led them to the demise and destruction. That was made easier by a Board stuffed with yes men who had a vested interest in keeping the status quo. And the lead man was walking on water like another Jesus spending money, our money, like a drunken sailor. Now, I gues he would blame the "market" for not conforming to his phantasies. But the day of reckoning is here; he has to deal head on with the "market" not ifs and buts anymore. And what does is Lazarus doing, he keeps silent and we learn from BNN what the real state of affairs is down at the farm. Creditors are coming knocking on your door and want their money. So there is no place to hide and no communication gimmicks Mr. Bates would get you off the hook; it seem the reality or "the market" as you are fond of saying has caught up with you.
