RE: RE: webacast does he slip up or misspeak? CNOOC China is definetly on the buying side of oil companies these days. Prime Minister Steven Harper has approved the Nexan deal and it is funny that deal has not yet been finalized .. yet the Canadian Gov't has gave their blessing to any deal signed before hand. Is that anyway to run a Government? makes me wonder who is running our country.. because it is not Steven Harper or he would not of approved a deal that is not even finalized yet.. bigger powers prevail over the puppet leaders we elect.
Anyways if the world is heading to a New World Order we better get used to sharing lots of energy with other countries. What's ours is yours is now the current state of things apparently.
Ivanhoe is well diversified now and loaded up with lots of cash for 2013 to get the HTL (heavy oil to light oil) system up and running with a new partner.
China's CNOOC would be my guess but they could also be partners with BP the European giant also to share in such oil technology getting more value from a barrel of heavy oil is a dream technology that so far only Ivanhoe Energy has invented.
Russian President Vladimir Putin is sqeezing out western countries and Europe countries from taking any peice of the Russian oil pie, so i doubt a deal will be done with the Russians with Putin's nationalization agenda.
The world oil partnerships are now being formed and the entire world oil industry is going to consolidate all those tiny and mid sized companies in the coming months in my opinion we should see many deals being struck and mergers for their very survival because of the world credit crunch the banks are not giving out big loans anymore for exploration projects. The small oil companies will either die or merge is the only real options they have to stay in the game. Any advantage technology wise like HTL that Ivanhoe has is a major plus when it comes to keeping in that very game.
The oil ball is now in the majors court
