RE: charts Hi Profit. Thanks for sharing your views on non application of TA to smaller stocks such as Woulfe. It appears in reaching this conclusion, you place heavy reliance on the amount of Woulfe share float that exists, the number of stockholders you perceive may or may not be swing traders or penny flippers, and the conclusion that technical analysis is functionally limited to only longer term (1-2 year and up) investments. I'm not sure that any of these factors are unique to Woulfe technical analysis, or technical analysis of any other stock, whether considered short or long term. They are all simply "factors" presumably considered by buyers in establishing the price of a stock through trading. In this process, TA is only concerned with the last factor, price, since TA considers "stock price" as the final common denominator of all "factors" considered, including in my opinion those in consideration by you.
I certanly don't disagree that buyouts, financing, good earnings, and other favorable news will move this stock. However, nor do I think the lack of such news will cause the stock to go dormant. It certainly hasn't in the last 4 months, and before. Moreover, no one is suggesting that TA will be the catalyst for price movement. Cerainly events cause price movements, but so do people's perceptions of value in the absence of events or news.
I think Woulfe charts previously posted on this board demonstrate remakably predictable trends upon which to successfull trade as a short or long term investor. Of course, existing trends almost certainly will change upon release of relevant news or events and result in a break of support, or a rally past resistance. This price volatility will simply be integrated into future TA as it has in the past. With that I join you in wishing good luck to all of us longs and terrific holidays, which, no doubt, would be even better with some great financing news!
