Doesn't it make sense to recycle the millions of taxpayer dollars used in training the top level, world class Canadian fighter pilots for the benefit of training the next generation rather than having them fly the Toronto-Ottawa etc. shuttle flights (yawn)?

What did the Dept. of National Defense do to train/maintain the skills of our fighter pilots before Top Aces came into being? Was it more or less efficient/cost effective? I would guesss that if it was done "in-house" than we're better of with a private sector sub-contractor like Top Aces.
