RE: RE: RE: Protecting Comox Valley Water Supply.. Last I heard, Canada had one of the best environment, geopolitical, and safety records on this, OUR planet.
Some, who just don't like coal, or traffic in their backyard, or progress that effects their simple lifestyles seem to want to make an example of the Raven Underground Coal Project which has had one of the most publicly scrutinized, and intense Environmental processes on record, here in Canada.
It's not good enough now, to just abide by Canadian regulations. For some reason, Compliance has to do what no other company is asked to do, and that is just not mine their deposit. That is what these few fanatics want.
It's not about the environment, it's just stop Raven at all costs, even if they have to do more than what is necessary to get a permit.
If anyone reads the news release of June 2012 it clearly states:
"These guidelines incorporate First Nations’, provincial, federal and local governments’, and public comments that are considered to be within the scope of the assessment. "
What this means is that the PUBLIC, the FIRST NATIONS and anyone associated with both the Federal and Provincial and LOCAL GOVERNMENT, had their chance to contribute "REASONABLE" issues that should be addressed.
ALL REASONABLE ISSUES HAVE BEEN ADDRESSED, period, and are currently either completed or ongoing, and will be included in the Final AIR application once submitted. JMO
