The drastically reduced cabling means reduced connections as opposed to the multiple chips required in today’s smart phones, tablets (mobile devices). Fewer connections to get jarred (and lose contact) but also fewer connections are a big part of POET's strength. Dramatically reduced costs to produce, higher speed and much lower energy. And baggie said something about calibration requirements? That makes absolutely no sense what so ever. The chip is not calibrated, no chips require calibration. Calibration is often applied to specific applications that require a measurement normally associated with a production type process but certainly not in a single chip. It is hardwired...Baggie has absolutely no clue what so ever.
And NASA would definitely what to put money into a device which has lower reliability for space missions.
